Our History … Your Future
Our History
Since 1978 Forge Recording has served the needs of the Philadelphia area’s recording community. In 2003 we moved our headquarters from Valley Forge (thus the name “Forge” Recording) to a brand-new world-class recording and production facility in Oreland, PA. Designed by the Walters-Storyk Design Group, our studio was one of five to be nominated internationally for the prestigious Mix Foundation Tec Award for Best Studio Design of 2004.
In 2013 we designed and built The Academy at Forge Recording in what was formerly our audiocassette manufacturing plant. Although intended as rehearsal spaces, the rooms were quickly claimed as studios by accomplished music producers. Since then, due to a lack of additional space, we have turned away producers who wanted to make Forge Recording their home.
In August 2019 we acquired the 9,000 square foot building next to Forge Recording, and are now able to provide a limited number of brand-new production rooms and recording studios for a few of our closest associates.
Your Future
The digital audio workstation allows just about anyone’s bedroom, living room or basement to become a project studio. While audio technology has advanced tremendously, the home environment has not. Time and time again producers tell us that in order to rise above the endless crowd of home studios, they need
- a professional atmosphere in which to meet with clients
- a properly proportioned, isolated and sound-conditioned work environment
- access to a world-class tracking and listening room, such as Forge Recording’s Studio A
- a community of like-minded professionals to collaborate with
We listened and created A-Side Studios at Forge Recording to deliver these benefits to you.
